[PodcastMN] Alesis Firewire

I don't know what you mean by not getting "system-level, Core Audio  
to be recognized by *any* app on the Mac," since that's basically  
what happens — I can play iTunes through my Firepod, for example.  
Basically applications use core audio for *all* audio, large and  
small. (The only notable exception I've seen is Skype, which doesn't  
like firewire input for some mysterious reason.)

Logic is definitely complex and unwieldy, but it does work with Core  
Audio ... and only Core Audio. I don't doubt you had problems, but it  
sounds like they were more subtle than just getting apps to recognize  
CA.
